Triple Arp

Three arpeggiators locked to the same root note and scale, each running at a different speed. They weave in and out of phase with each other, creating interlocking melodic patterns from a single set of notes.

When two or more repeating patterns run at different speeds, they create polyrhythm. Here, Arp 1 plays eighth notes (2 per beat), Arp 2 plays triplets (3 per beat), and Arp 3 plays sixteenths (4 per beat). The three cycles align at the start of each beat, then fan apart, then reconverge. The result is a texture that's always shifting but never random.

Adjusting the speed divisors changes the ratio between the arps. Try setting them to 3, 4, and 5 for a more complex polyrhythm, or 2, 4, and 8 for nested subdivisions. Change the pattern direction and step count to reshape how each voice moves through the scale.
